What I Do, I Write About
Whether trails or roads, I’ve been a runner my entire life. Now I enjoy traveling to new destinations and running the roads and trails to explore. As an outdoor writer, I combine traveling and running as a way to discover cities.
“The mountains are my calling… and I must go.” – John Muir
I enjoy sharing my passion for hiking and spend countless day trips hiking in the Appalachian Mountains, Blue Ridge Mountains, and across the Southeast. Through trail reviews and listicles, I detail trails so that my readers can take the information and hike the trail on their own.
I began cycling through triathlon training, but now have the luxury of having my significant other as a cycling coach for TrainingPeaks and a former pro racer. Combining his knowledge of the cycling industry and training, I write up tips on best roads to ride, where to travel for cycling, etc.
Since moving to Atlanta, I have fallen in love with the city. It’s distinct neighborhoods, iconic landmarks, and culture make it a great place to explore. With every new person or experience, it’s an opportunity for a story. I’ve done profiles on people, organizations and places, written guides about the city’s different activities, and more to share my love of Atlanta.
I wrote for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s dining section under the esteemed James Beard Winner, John Kessler, for almost two years. I highlighted Atlanta’s dining scene through chef interviews and profiles, round-ups and listicles, research-driven articles about food culture, recipe how-to videos, and dining travel pieces. I still contribute to local Atlanta-based publications and write feature stories, round-ups, travel pieces, and Q&As. See my work.
